PROJECT OVERVIEW
The homeowners purchased an older property as part of a planned downsizing, with the goal of creating a home that would comfortably carry them into retirement. While the location and structure worked, the interior was clearly dated and reflected design choices from the 1980s. Early on, they brought in Collaborative Construction to help modernize the home and guide the renovation with a clear, long-term vision.
From the outset, the project emphasized advance planning and coordination. Design decisions across all systems, including electrical, windows, and interior finishes, were made early, allowing the build to move forward without constant changes or uncertainty. This upfront clarity shaped the entire home renovation process.
In addition to the main level, a full basement renovation was completed, expanding the total scope of the project to 2,500 square feet.
